بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Utterly Merciful
There is no god, but Allah, the One without companion, the Creator, the Sustainer, the Guide. All good comes from Allah and all evil that we experience is from our evil deeds. He has sent His chosen ones, His guides—the Prophets—as a mercy to all of creation and particularly to His creation possessing intellect—Jinn and Mankind. He sent our Master Muhammad as the last and seal of all Prophets. Allah bless and grant peace upon our Master Muhammad, and upon his family and companions until the day all debts fall due.
It is our great pleasure to offer to you our website The Path to Completion, being a Southern African effort of the students and seekers on the path. This path is in context a reference to the way to reach completion of one’s spiritual self, as shown by the great Madani Scholar and teacher Abuna Shaykh Muhamad Ahamad al-Mahi al-Bukhari of the blessed city of Madinah al Munowarah. Abuna Shaykh means “our father, the teacher”, and is how this incredible scholar have been referred to by many in Madinah.
The purpose of our website is to introduce the visitor to the science of Ihsan, as expounded under renowned shuyukh in the manner of Abuna Shaykh and other masters of the path. In particular, we draw inspiration and guidance from Shaykh Abdulqadir Jayli, a current Shaykh from the line of Abuna Shaykh.
In another way our path also unite with that of the authentic Shadhiliah Darqawiyya under the guidance of Shaykh Muhamad bil Ghaythi of Meknes, Morocco.
Our path is that of Gratitude (Shukr), and it was the Way traveled by the Prophets and among the Sahaba and others, and it consists of worshipful devotion (‘Ibadah) of Him Most High with sincerity in servanthood and being free of all personal aims and selfish portions, coupled with recognition and admittance of one’s own impotence and deficiency and inability to fulfill the rights of Lordship, and that all of that become established and settled in the heart in every passing moment and hour. Therefore, in the Way of Gratitude the Hijrah is – from the beginning – towards Allah and His Messenger, and not necessarily towards spiritual illumination and unveilings, although arrival at this insight can and would occur. What is more prevalant is that with this path comes knowledge of Allah and love of Sayeduna Muhammad, salalahu alayhi wasalam.
Our teachers are the knowers of Allah—the first and foremost being Sayyiduna Muhammad, salalahu alayhi wasallam. Age after age contained these enlightened masters and ulama, the shuhada and the saliheen, these teachers who passed on the light of knowledge of Allah and Islam until this age. At a certain point in the history of this transmission, these men came to be known as the Knowers, Arifin, and their knowledge, Ma’rifa.
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds.
